This article will help you better understand the Known Relationships feature in RMS and will guide you on how to use them properly which make check-in easier for families.
What are Known Relationships?
Known Relationships is a feature in RMS that allows for you to link two profiles together without the profiles needing to be in the same household.
An example would be a Grandparent who is part of another household in RMS with different members and shouldn't be added to the other household. This feature can be used to link the Grandparent's account to their Grandchild's and allow the Grandparent to check the child in on the weekend without needing to be a member of their Son/Daughter's household in RMS.
Along with this, it can help to prevent duplicate accounts being created for one person/child for checking in.
Another use-case is two adult Sisters who both attend Life.Church, it may be good to know that they are Siblings, and you can add that as a Known Relationship on their RMS Profiles.
There are many different Relationship types in this tool; but the most important will be listed below.
- Parent
- Step Parent
- Child
- Step Child
- Sibling
- Grandparent
- Grandchild
- Allow Check-In By
- Visitor
