Mac Users: Change Your Computer Password

This article will show you how to change the password on your Mac to login, download and install software, and make system changes. An additional step must be completed to change your Life.Church password.

At the bottom of this article, you will be directed to change your Life.Church password.

First, within System Settings (previously System Preferences), you will change your computer password.

Scroll down in the sidebar and click on Users & Groups.

Click the "i" next to the user you need to update the password on.

Select "Change Password".

Fill out the information to change your Mac password.

Once you've entered that information, click "Change Password" and select "Done".

We also highly recommend a good password hint. If you forget your Mac password at any time, it will require assistance from IT to reset it.

iCloud users will be prompted to update your Mac password in iCloud settings.

Return to the main page within System Preferences. Click iCloud.

Near the top of the window it says “Confirm Mac Password”, click "Continue".

Enter your new Mac password and click "OK".
