Front - How to Respond to a Conversation

Updated on

Select the Conversation you want to respond to. (The currently selected conversation will be highlighted in blue.)

Click either of the "Reply" buttons. (Top right or bottom left of the message window.)

This will open a "Shared Draft" under the message. You can now type out your response.

To open and use any of the text editing tools, click the "Aa" on the far left of the bottom bar of the draft.

A "Shared Draft" means that, if necessary, other team members that have access to the same inbox you're sending from can jump in to either help write the response, or send it themselves.

If you need to add anyone, click next to "To:" and type the email address you want to add as a recipient.

On the far right of the "To:" will be three buttons, you can click "Cc" and "Bcc" to add those additional recipients, and click "Subject" to change the subject line of the email when you respond.

If you need to attach a file to the response, you can click the Paper Clip icon on the bottom bar of the draft to attach a file from your computer, Dropbox, or Google Drive.

If you want to completely delete your draft, your can click the "Trash" icon on the middle of the bottom bar of your draft.

Once you're finished writing your response, you can click the bottom right to Send. You can click the arrow next to the Send button to choose a different way to send.

Please note: the Send button can be set to "Send & Archive", "Send & Snooze", "Send Later", or simply "Send" in Settings. For this example, "Send & Snooze" is the default method of sending a message. We will cover the send options below.

When sending, you will have a few different options if you click the V arrow next to the Send button.

The Send option will send the drafted message and leave the Conversation on your "Open" tab.

Send Later will allow you to schedule when the email will be sent to the recipient and will leave it on your "Open" tab with a Orange banner over the top of your draft to let you know when the response will be sent.

Send & Archive will send your message, then automatically move it over to your "Archived" tab.

Send & Snooze will send your message and allow you to set the Conversation to appear on your "Open" tab again after a certain amount of time. (For more information on Snoozing, please check out Front's Help Center article.)

A notification on the bottom left of the screen will let you know the message has been sent, along with a five-second timer and "Undo" button, should you need to cancel the send.
