Formstack - Data Security

Updated on

This article outlines Life.Church Best Practices for securing data in Formstack.

File Uploads

All uploaded files should be considered sensitive data. This includes photos, contracts, W-9's, and any other file type being uploaded to Formstack. All forms using the File Upload field should use the Dropbox Integration outlined in this section. Submit an IT Help Desk ticket for any related questions.

The Dropbox Integration with Formstack automatically saves uploaded files to the Dropbox folder of you designate. This integration does not impact the experience for someone completing a form. It allows you to manage the location within our secure Dropbox environment instead of the default Formstack location.

Important - Personal Identifiable Information

Protecting attender data is important. Formstack provides a way to encrypt each form's collected data with a unique password.

When a form is set to collect sensitive data:

  1. The form must be encrypted.
  2. Sensitive data cannot be sent in an email, even from Formstack. Learn how to change the email receipt notification to a link back to the entry.

What is Sensitive Data?

  • Social Security Numbers
  • License Numbers
  • Account Numbers
  • Medical Information
