Add Guests to a Team

These steps are for adding a volunteer or contractor to a Team in Microsoft Teams.

1. Click on 'More options' next to the Team

2. Select 'Add Member' in the drop down menu under 'More Options'

3. Type in the email address for volunteer/contractor who needs to be added to the Team

Note: If you don't edit the username for the guest before sending the invitation, you will be unable to edit their username later. Unless the username is edited, the user's name will display as their email address. 


Click on the pencil (see below) and then edit their username. Select the check mark to finish editing the username.

4. Click 'Add'.

Once you click 'Add' a welcome email will be sent.

5. Teams will confirm the addition via a message.

Double check 'Guest Permissions' in your Team.

1. Click 'More Options' again.

2. Select 'Manage team' under 'More Options'.

3. Open 'Settings'

4. Click the 'Guest permissions' drop down.
