Updating Sonos Devices

Updated on

Sonos recently updated their mobile app, which is used widely at Life.Church locations. This update provides better security, but requires work in order to get mobile app up and running on any staff member's phone.

Download the Sonos app from the app store or google play store.

Navigate to your device's app store and download the Sonos (S2) app.

Open the app and select "Ok" to allow access to bluetooth.

Skip through when it asks to set up any streaming services.

Tap "View Terms of Use" to accept the app's terms and conditions.

After the webpage opens, make sure to read through every line of the terms and conditions before going back to the app.

Re-open the app and tap "accept".

Press "Join an Existing System" and allow location access.

1. Wait as the sonos app connects to your system

If Prompted to Update the Sonos Player:

Update the Sonos devices first, via the mobile app.

You may be asked to enter a login for "t******[email protected]" during this update. If you are prompted for this, we have created a password that works for this account on SONOS applications. Please email [email protected] to receive the password.

Using the mobile app on your phone, tap the "update" button when prompted.

If prompted, confirm the update again.

Wait patiently as the Sonos app updates the products for you.

Please do not reboot or unplug your Sonos devices during this process.

Once the products are up to date, tap "done" in the top right corner.

Lastly, update the Sonos player app on the ProTools computer.

Follow the steps online to download the new Sonos player app and install it on the computer.

When given the option to "replace" or "keep both" Sonos applications in the applications folder, select "replace".

Sonos is now set and ready for the weekend.
