What is Mobile Check-in?

  • Inside the LC App we have added the ability to pull up your check-in barcode and scan it anywhere you would check-in; checking in a child or checking-in to serve. 
    • In order to use this feature in the Life.Church App you have to be signed in with your Life.Church Account.
      • Barcodes will be automatically created for attendees who sign into the LC App
      • Barcodes in the LC app are no longer tied to physical key tags given at the campus

How do I get it on a phone?

  • Download the app - http://life.church/app
  • Create or sign in to your LC account in the app
  • Make sure the email address being used in unique to the individual. Sharing an email address may create a duplicate or link to the wrong individual.

How does an attendee sign in?

Attendees have several option so sign into their account:

  • Facebook
  • Google
  • Apple
  • Unique sign in they create with their email address

Handling multiple Life.Church accounts

How:

  • If a new Life.Church account is created using an email we don’t currently have connected to that user, the system will create a new (duplicate) Life.Church Account and Rock profile for them. 
  • After this, until their new Accounts are merged, their barcode will work but may not have their entire profile, requirements, or family members.

What does this mean:

    • If a user a has a Rock Profile and/or Life.Church Account with the email [email protected] and they forget this or use a different authentication method (Email, Facebook, Apple, & Google are the 4 options we give) that is using [email protected] then our system has no way to know this is the same person, so it creates a new account for them. Until their accounts are merged, the new barcode will only be associated with this new account.

Troubleshooting

There are 3 main steps to troubleshooting now:

  1. What do I do if the Visit Guest Services Screen is there?

Have the attendee sign out and back in to the LC App. This will resolve most of the recent problems.

  • This will ensure the connection between their Life.Church Account and Rock is created. 
  • It may take up to a minute for the barcode to appear in the app. They can simply go back to the check-in page in the app after a minute. 

 

  1. What happens if the barcode pulls up no family or doesn’t allow them to check-in to volunteer and I know they have a group assignment?

This will most likely be caused by the creation of a duplicate account.  If the attendee signs in with a new email or using a different method (Google or Facebook), it may create a duplicate account.  

You will need to submit a merge request to resolve the issue. 

 

  1. Anything else 

If you have tried the above steps and still need help, help the attendee open a support ticket in their app by 

  1. Clicking the profile image in the upper-right hand corner
  2. Clicking App Support
  3. Filling out the fields
  4. Clicking Send
