Teams Notifications

If you're having issues with getting notifications on Teams, then this article will walk through the troubleshooting steps.

Are you having notification issues on your computer or phone?

What type of phone?

First, let's check your iOS settings for Teams notifications and disable mobile notification pause.

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Teams.

3. Toggle on Allow Notifications.

If Microsoft Teams' notification was already enabled, you can toggle it off and back on.

5. Next, select Notifications

6. Under the Receive notifications section, select Always.

If any of those settings were off, then notifications could have not been received to your phone. Test to see if you'll get notifications after checking the setting above. Continue below, if you're still having issues.

Are you having trouble with notifications for a Teams Channel or a Chat?

By default, Teams will limit the notifications coming to your phone. Most of the time, notifications for channels, will be turned off.

1. Launch Microsoft Teams and navigate to the Teams section.

2. Next, select the channel whose notification settings you want to modify.

3. Tap the crossed bell icon at the top-right corner of the channel.

4. Finally, select 'All new messages in this channel' option.

4.1. The bell icon should no longer be crossed and you should now receive notifications for all messages in that channel.

2. Select Notifications.

3. Navigate to the 'Notify me for' section and toggle on all Teams' activities you want to get notified for.

Note that these steps and screenshots may vary from phone to phone.

First, let's check your Android settings for Teams notifications and disable mobile notification pause.

1. Launch the Android Settings and select Notifications.

2. Tap 'See all 111 apps' or scroll to the bottom of the page and select Teams.

3. Select the Teams app.

4. Select 'Notifications'

5. Toggle on 'Show notifications' and any other notifications you want turned on, such as 'Chat' and 'Calls Missed'.

If you haven't been getting notifications, then you can toggle off show notifications and then toggle it back on.

7. Next, select Notifications

8. Make sure 'Quiet hours' are turned off and turn on 'Always, even if active on desktop'.

Are you having trouble with notifications for a Teams Channel or a Chat?
