Windows 10 Update and Checking Drivers

Updated on

Check Updates

Windows 10 offers you the choice of when and how to get the latest updates to keep your device running smoothly and securely.

To manage your options and see available updates, select 'Check for Windows updates'. Or select the 'Start button', and then go to Settings  > Update & Security   > Windows Update .

Update Drivers

Drivers are packages needed to run hardware as intended. If some component is not, then we check for its drivers. Windows automatically check for driver updates, but if something is not working, is good to check manually. Here's how:

  1. In the search box on the taskbar (located in the bottom left part of the screen), type 'device manager', then select Device Manager.
  2. Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you’d like to update.
  3. Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  4. Select Update Driver.

If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.
